In plain English

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is looking for electrical contractors to join a framework agreement for four years to carry out electrical works across their buildings and transport assets. They are splitting the work into two categories: minor electrical jobs (one winner) and major electrical jobs (five winners).

What the buyer wants

• Provide electrical maintenance and repair services for low and high voltage systems across the Authority's estate • Demonstrate experience with switchgear replacement, transformer maintenance, and live electrical work in operational buildings • Manage subcontractors, maintain compliance records, and follow health and safety procedures to the highest standard

Lots

Likely requirements

Our reading of the notice. Always check the tender documents.

Most small electrical businesses will struggle with the financial capacity check and lack of proven major electrical project experience required for Lot 2 (five suppliers to be awarded). Lot 1 (minor works) is more achievable but you must hold an Ultimo License, have LV maintenance programme experience, and pass a debarment check. If your company or any related parties are on the Cabinet Office debarment list, you are automatically excluded.

How to bid

This is a framework: the buyer picks a set of suppliers now and awards work to them over several years. If you are not on it when it is awarded, you usually cannot win work from it until it is re-tendered, so this is the window to bid.
