In plain English

The government is setting up a long-term supplier list (called a DPS) for electricity infrastructure work across the UK public sector, including NHS hospitals, councils, housing providers, and emergency services. They're looking for companies that can install, remove, and maintain electricity networks and substations. This is an amendment extending an existing framework to May 2029.

What the buyer wants

• Install and remove electricity infrastructure (cables, networks, connections) • Install and remove electrical substations • Work across multiple public sector organisations (NHS, councils, housing, police, fire, charities) • Be available for the next 5 years (or longer under the extension)

Likely requirements

Our reading of the notice. Always check the tender documents.

This is a DPS (Dynamic Purchasing System) framework, not a single job. You must be able to bid for work across multiple public bodies simultaneously and hold high-level electrical infrastructure credentials and insurance. Most sole traders and small electricians will be excluded unless they're already working for a larger contractor or can meet stringent DNO/Ofgem compliance requirements.

How to bid

This is a Dynamic Purchasing System: an open list of approved suppliers. You can apply to join at any time while it runs, and once accepted you can bid for the individual contracts the buyer runs through it.
