In plain English

East Renfrewshire Council, through its Health and Social Care Partnership, is setting up a framework of approved care providers for supported living services, which help adults and children live as independently as possible in their own homes. The estimated value is around £150 million over up to 10 years (about £15 million a year), but the council does not guarantee how much work any provider will receive. New providers can apply to join the framework after it is set up.

What the buyer wants

• Deliver supported living care for adults (and children, under a separate lot) across the East Renfrewshire communities you cover, including Barrhead, Neilston and Uplawmoor, Thornliebank, Netherlee and Giffnock, Clarkston, Busby and Eaglesham, and Newton Mearns • Hold a Care Inspectorate grade of 4 or above and meet all the regulatory standards and qualifications set out in the tender pack • Pay the Real Living Wage (if not already paying it) no later than the second anniversary of the contract start, and work with the council on agreed community benefits

Likely requirements

Our reading of the notice. Always check the tender documents.

The Care Inspectorate grade of 4 or above is the main gate, so a provider without a current rating at that level would most likely be ruled out, along with any business without the capacity to deliver across the listed communities at this scale.

How to bid

This is a framework: the buyer picks a set of suppliers now and awards work to them over several years. If you are not on it when it is awarded, you usually cannot win work from it until it is re-tendered, so this is the window to bid.
