In plain English
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council wants a supplier to provide ice cream products and equipment for its seafront kiosks and shops, plus Upton Country Park, Queens Park Café, King's Park Leisure facilities and its museums. The contract is worth about £3.7 million in total and is split into two lots: impulse ice creams (about £300,000 a year) and scoop ice cream with accessories (about £440,000 a year). You can bid for one lot or both.
What the buyer wants
• Lot 1 (impulse ice cream): a range of at least 10 single-serve products such as lollies, push-ups, individual tubs and a children's range, including plant-based options, plus at least seven kiosks lent free for the whole contract and maintained at the supplier's cost. • Lot 2 (scoop ice cream and accessories): at least 24 scoop flavours, including at least four plant-based and four sorbet flavours, plus cones, whippy ice cream, flakes, accessories, individual pots and dog ice cream, supplied in tubs of 4.5 to 5.5 litres. • Across both lots, a branded scoop range of at least 10 flavours is required, and the ice cream should add value to the customer experience.
Lots
- Impulse Ice Cream
- Scoop Ice Cream and Accessories
Likely requirements
Our reading of the notice. Always check the tender documents.
The requirement to lend at least seven kiosks free of charge and maintain them for the whole contract, together with the large flavour ranges, needs significant capital, stock and delivery capacity, so most small businesses would struggle to bid for Lot 1, though a smaller business could realistically target Lot 2 alone.
How to bid
This is an open tender: any eligible business can respond directly to the buyer by the deadline, with no framework membership needed.
