In plain English

Worcestershire County Council is setting up a pre-approval system (called a DPS) for independent schools that can support children with special educational needs (SEND). Schools will choose from this pre-approved list when they need to place a child, rather than the council running a new tender each time.

What the buyer wants

• Pre-qualify by joining one or more of 7 categories covering different types of SEND (autism, communication needs, learning disabilities, emotional health, physical/sensory needs, complex needs, or post-16 provision) • Complete a Standard Questionnaire and upload evidence of your experience, qualifications, and accreditations • Be ready to respond quickly to mini-competitions when schools request a specific placement

Likely requirements

Our reading of the notice. Always check the tender documents.

Most tradespersons (builders, electricians, cleaners, plumbers) cannot bid for this. It is exclusively for independent schools or education providers that directly deliver SEND teaching and pastoral support. You cannot subcontract the core service.

How to bid

This is a Dynamic Purchasing System: an open list of approved suppliers. You can apply to join at any time while it runs, and once accepted you can bid for the individual contracts the buyer runs through it.
