In plain English

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is building a list of pre-qualified care agencies to provide supported living services (residential care support) to adults who need it. Any care agency can apply at any time, and the council will evaluate applications every 12 months. There's no guaranteed work, but successful agencies get access to future contract opportunities worth up to £700 million over 8 years.

What the buyer wants

• Be registered as a Home Care Agency with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and maintain that registration with no serious compliance breaches • Achieve a 'good' or 'outstanding' CQC inspection rating (or 'requires improvement' if you can prove you're fixing the issues) • Demonstrate you can deliver person-centred, outcome-focused care and coordinate services effectively from a registered office or location

Likely requirements

Our reading of the notice. Always check the tender documents.

You must be a registered Home Care Agency with current CQC registration and a good/outstanding rating (or requires improvement with a credible action plan). This is non-negotiable. Most small independent carers or agencies without formal CQC registration will be excluded.

How to bid

This is a Dynamic Purchasing System: an open list of approved suppliers. You can apply to join at any time while it runs, and once accepted you can bid for the individual contracts the buyer runs through it.
