Vico Homes is procuring a contractor for each geographic area (called Lots) to replace kitchens in its housing properties, mainly on a like-for-like basis, meaning the old kitchen is removed and a new one of the same type is fitted. The appointed contractor will manage the whole process, including surveys, asbestos work, ordering materials and installation, and will act as Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
What the buyer wants
• Plan and run delivery for their allocated Lot, including customer appointments, surveys, asbestos surveys and removals, kitchen manufacture orders via Jewson Partnership Solutions, installation scheduling and resource planning • Act as Principal Contractor and carry out the associated CDM and Building Regulations duties, delivering complete, safe, compliant and habitable kitchens • Receive, inspect, secure and store all materials ordered through Vico Homes Stores in the contractor's own facilities, and re-sequence work using backfill properties when homes are refused or delayed

Requirements
What could rule a small business out: The notice sets out no financial or size thresholds, but the very large overall value (£110,180,000), the Principal Contractor role under CDM, responsibility for running the full programme, and the requirement to store materials in the contractor's own facilities would most likely rule out most small businesses unless they are part of a larger team or can deliver a Lot on their own.
