In plain English
Kirklees Council is setting up a dynamic purchasing system (DPS), which is an open list of approved suppliers that can bid for individual jobs over time, for repair, maintenance and improvement work on its housing and other buildings. The estimated total value is £154 million over an initial 60 months, with options to extend for up to five further 12-month periods. This notice re-advertises an existing 2019 framework so that further competitions can be run, and new suppliers can still join.
What the buyer wants
• Join the council's approved supplier list and bid for individual repair, maintenance and improvement jobs as they are competed. • Deliver work in one or more of the listed lots, including plastering and rendering, joinery, fabrication, painting and decorating, roofing, suspended ceilings, window and door replacement, data cabling and adaptations. • For some lots, such as communal door replacement, carry out the full job: measuring, removing and disposing of old units, designing, manufacturing and installing new ones at addresses across the borough.

Requirements
What could rule a small business out: The notice does not set out specific qualification criteria in the text provided, but several lots involve large-scale programmes across the whole borough, such as replacing communal doors and curtain walling in multiple blocks and fitting uPVC windows to domestic properties, so firms without the capacity for multi-property work may find these lots hard to win.
